Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Many people are new to the process of decluttering and professional organising, so I have detailed below and answered some of the most frequently asked questions which will help you understand what is involved and what to expect when we work with you. I am happy to answer any further questions that you may have, so please do not hesitate to contact me.

We can help you simplify your life and space.
A professional organiser will help you declutter and organise any space in your home or business. This could be anything from one cupboard to a whole house, a garage to a home office.
Anyone, from individuals and families to small business owners. Anyone that needs help to sort and organise aspects of their home and/or business premises.
- If you are juggling work and home and finding it difficult to make time to organise and keep on top of your space.
- If you are diagnosed with ADHD or other neuro-disability which affects your ability to organise and maintain routines.
- If you have a major change in your life, therefore, require support and practical help to make necessary changes.
If your home is organised, it will have a positive effect on everyone in the household. A clutter-free home will give you more space and be easier and quicker to clean, thereby freeing up more quality time for you to spend with family, friends, and your interests.
A calm stress-free home also has positive benefits to both health and mind as we alleviate those clutter anxieties from your life.
During our initial telephone consultation, we will discuss your requirements in detail in order to establish your priorities and goals as well as look at any timescales that you need to work to. This will allow me to assess how I can support and guide you. We will arrange a time convenient to you for me to schedule our first session together.
The length of time to declutter and organise will depend entirely on the size and scale of the project, and your physical and mental energy levels.
Decluttering is a very personal process that can be emotional, with this in mind, I will work with you with gentle encouragement at a pace that suits you.
Yes. It is important for you as the owner of the items to be decluttered to be part of the decluttering process. I will do the physical work, but it is important for you to make decisions about the items that you wish to pass on or keep and where you want to store them.
If the project requires packing or unpacking before or after a move then it may not be necessary for you to be there. This will be discussed and agreed with you beforehand.
If we have fully decluttered a particular area and I am working on an area designated for organising, then I am able to work there without you but only if discussed and agreed with you beforehand.
Absolutely not. I do not expect you to clean or tidy up before I arrive as it is really important for me to see how you use the space that we will be working on, in its’ original state.
The process of decluttering will involve making decisions over many items. Any decision will be entirely yours and none of your belongings will be removed without your permission. I will help and encourage you through the process to always keep your original objectives and goals in mind.
I will help you decide where unwanted items could be distributed. I can give you suggestions on sending items for recycling or charity donations. I am happy to take away on your behalf, up to 5 bags of items which are to be taken to charity or recycling upon agreement with yourself.
No, you don’t. Dependent on where and what we are decluttering and organising, buying additional storage may only be needed as a last resort because most homes have containers, storage, and furniture that we can reorganise and repurpose.
If you are happy for photos to be taken, it is often useful and very encouraging to see progress through before and after photos. I will specifically ask your permission first before taking photos and using any images that I may share on my website or social media. Any images will be used with total anonymity or where/when they are taken.
My terms and conditions can be viewed here, however, I will bring a paper copy with me to our first session which I will ask you to sign and leave you a copy for your records.
Yes, I am fully insured as a professional organiser with up-to-date public liability and professional indemnity insurance with Westminster Insurance.
